Rated 2 out of 5 by from I hate wearing these Did not find these as comfortable as the other Kuru shoes I have purchased. The high tops tend to rub and the sizing is a tad big. I don't think they look as nice on when compared to the picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable boot I've ever worn. I was really sad to see that my Quest Boots had a seam that wore out after two years of hard use. They are comfortable and easily the best boots I've ever owned. My only beef is that they only lasted two years. Heh. I'm ordering a new pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Most Comfortable Shoes I've Ever Owned! My mom turned me on to Kuru because of her plantar fasciitis. I've mostly found Kuru shoes to offer me the comfort I need for my arch and heel pain and bunion problems. I thought these boots looked super cute online, so I ordered them in black. They are definitely among the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! I normally wear a size 7, but I've found with Kuru that I have to order smaller. Size 6 works for me in these and the three pairs of Chicanes I own. Even as a size 6, these are still roomy enough for me to wear a heavy sock for cold days. I've worn these around town and commuting to work by train as well as walking on my lunch breaks, and they are very comfortable, supportive, and warm. I probably would never hike in them, and they aren't my usual snow boots although I have worn them commuting in the snow and my feet stay warm and dry, so they're more like my casual work day commuter shoe. I walk at least 2-3 miles a day and do a mix of standing, sitting, and walking at work. I've owned these for a few months now and have never had any pain while wearing them. The heel cushion doesn't have quite as much give as my Chicanes, but I like it better because on my Chicanes the heel slips a bit more than I like. The boot cradles my foot and just feels like a cozy nest! Because the tops of my feet are arched oddly and very bony, shoe tongues often rub and can cause pain. The tongue of this boot is extremely soft and has never given me the red sore spots I frequently get on the tops of my feet while wearing other shoes. I usually can't wait to take my shoes off at the end of the day, but I almost forget I have these on, they're so comfortable! They definitely are a bit bulky looking and make my feet look large, which is the only downside since I'm a small short person. But I still think they are cute and despite the bulk they don't feel heavy. I can't wait until they finally get my size in the tan color, because I love these so much I want another pair!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I received these shoes barely a month ago and have walked in them nearly every day since for approximately 2 miles. I found them comfortable at first and they reduced my heel pain quite a bit. However after this short time period the material in the back of the heel in both shoes has worn through and I can no longer wear them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This boot is just OK. The product looks good and feels good but my heel still hurts. For the price of $145, I think I could have bought a more supportive pair of boots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really wanted to like this boot. I am giving it 3 stars for quality, but I am very picky about hiking boots and this really didn't fit properly. The left heel didn't feel right, the toe box was too shallow, and the boots were very stiff. In addition, the neck of the boot came up higher than I'd have liked. I was hoping for a replacement for my very comfortable, but worn-out, Patagonias, but there is no way I could hike 10+ miles in this boot for 7 days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very comfortable I bought these boots 2 years ago . Love the fit, very comfortable and supportive. Could us a more aggressive sole though, is a little slippery in the winter months .The leather is holding up nicely but the sole is starting to come loose in stops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A+ boot! I took these boots out of the box, after a swift sale to delivery time. At once I checked the quality of the boot and this gets an A+ from me. I put on heavy socks, which is something I can't normally do with ordered boots. My long toes had plenty of room, and it was like walking on a cloud, they are not heavy boots, but the soles give plenty of protection. No need for buying extra wide, these fit my size 10 foot. The leather is soft and no breaking in time needed. As soon as they were on my feet, I took them for a spin on a 3 mile hike. They are fabulous, and my feet have been missing this feeling for years. I definitely recommend these boots!

Is the Quest boot waterproof? If not, can it be treated with bear grease to help make it waterproof?

Asked by: Songbird
Great question! The QUEST boot is not waterproof. It definitely holds up well in wet conditions but it will not stop water from going inside. We recommend checking out our KURU SHIELD spray which helps protect your shoes from water stains and many other things. Bear grease can be an option but any damage will void our return/exchange policy. I hope this information was helpful!

Does this boot have a rigid sole? I have joint discomfort in my big toe/foot joint. If the sole bends it hurts my foot

Asked by: Babs
We appreciate your interest in the QUEST boots! The QUEST boots have a dual density outer sole so they definitely have a rigid/sturdy sole, they will not bend easily. They are very supportive and comfortable!

I bought a pair of these Fall 2017 for a hike in the PacNW. I liked them very much except for the tread. The tread is nearly flat and very slippery on wet or muddy surfaces. I had to switch into different shoes on our trip. Seems like these could be great for hiking with some tread improvement. Heading back to hike PacNW in October. Have there been any improvements since November 2017 as far as tread grip? I love Kurus and live in them year round. I'm not opposed to trying them again if the tread has improved.
Asked by: Anonymous
We appreciate your interest in our KURU shoes. I am sorry to hear that the tread got worn off. Unfortunately, we do not have any official news or notes that there were changes made to the QUEST boot but I will definitely forward your message to our product team as feedback. We really appreciate you reaching out to us and letting us know about your experience!

I have a bunion on my left foot will this boot stretch enough to work or do you have a bunion stretcher?
Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for contacting KURU Footwear! The leather on this QUEST boot will stretch just a tiny bit with normal wear and tear but it will not stretch to the point where it will accommodate your bunion. In addition, we do not offer any sort of bunion stretcher. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you! The QUEST boot already has a generous toe box and front so we can always give them a shot and see how they work out! Please keep in mind that we do offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. With that being said, you can always order a pair to try them on and if you get the wrong size or if it doesn't work out for you, you can return them to us free of charge within 45 days of purchase. They need to be in new condition to get full refund or exchange.
