Symptoms & Diagnosis

Morton’s neuroma is a painful foot condition caused by the thickening of the tissue around the nerves leading to your toes. This can cause a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, including:

Feeling of a lump in your shoe: Since the tissue
around the nerves becomes inflamed and enlarged, you might feel a sensation of something like a pea or pebble stuck at the bottom of your foot or in your sock.

Pain in the ball of foot or between the toes: A
sharp, burning, or stinging sensation can occur in the ball of the foot or between the toes—especially the third and fourth toes.

Tingling or numbness in the toes: With Morton’s neuroma, tingling and numbness often exists in the ball of the foot and cascades into the toes.

FAQs

  • I just received a pair of your shoes and my feet are sore/hurt after wearing them. Why is that?

Some customers experience tenderness when they first start wearing a new pair of KURUs.

That’s ok! Your body may need time to adjust to the new levels of anatomical support you experience with our patented KURUSOLE technology.

Our shoes are also designed to mold to your unique foot shape, which takes a bit of a break-in period.

To help mitigate this, we suggest you follow our break-in procedure, including wearing your KURUs for a couple hours per day around the house in the first couple of weeks as they break in and form to your foot.

  • Can I use custom orthotics with KURU shoes?

Due to the anatomical shape of the KURUSOLE, custom orthotics with a rounded heel fit best inside our shoes.

If the underside of the custom orthotic (the part that sits on the footbed) is squared off, then it may not fit into our deep heel cup—which is rounded like your foot.

Many of our customers tell us the KURUSOLE technology offers better support and stability than they expected, and say they don’t need to wear their custom orthotics with KURU shoes.

  • Are your shoes considered orthopedic shoes?

While our shoes are not currently considered orthopedic by a medical standard,we have received thousands of positive reviews from customers who say their KURUs helped reduce or eliminate their pain—including Morton’s neuroma!

  • How do I know which shoes to buy? Which is best for me?

The best shoe for you will depend on your unique foot type.

The best shoes for Morton’s neuroma offer a wide toe box, plenty of cushion, no heels, and enough width to give your nerves and joints the space and support they need.

Whether you’re looking for walking shoes for Morton’s neuroma, slip-on shoes, or flip flops, KURUs line of some of the best shoes for Morton’s neuroma—for men and women alike—help alleviate foot pain symptoms for all-day comfort.

Love, love, love these shoes! I’m so glad I decided to try this brand after hearing so many good things about them. I came across them after researching shoes for my Morton’s Neuroma problem I’ve been struggling with for weeks. I’ve only worn these for a week now and have absolutely zero pain when wearing them. The only con is they are too nice of a shoe to wear when doing work around the house and yard, so I’ve only been wearing them at work.

Comfort and no more pain. I suffer from Morton Neuroma and after purchasing the Chicane I finally feel that I’m on the road to recovery. My foot had relief as soon as I put them on. I didn’t have to limit the time I wore them. They were perfect right out of the box. I can’t say enough about these shoes. Since the Chicane, I no longer have the Neuroma pain. I will only purchase my foot wear from KURU.

Pain Free Morton Neuroma’s. I am 58 years old and have had Morton Neuromas on both feet for 35 years. Primarily as a result of never wearing shoe’s wide enough for my foot. The best shoe previously would allow me to walk for five miles and like clock work at 5 miles the Neuromas would start burning like crazy. I just completed a 12 mile walk with not a trace of pain from the Neuroma’s. I had to be patient as it took longer than I expected for my foot to adjust to the shoes. They were giving me pain in the top of my foot for a while. However, after the breakin they are incredible. Thank You

Stiff at first but then it was comfortable very quickly.
