What are HIIT shoes?

HIIT shoes give you the right amount of support when performing high-intensity interval training, which includes jumping, running, squatting, lifting, climbing, and more. Thus, as a jack-of-all-trades in the footwear department, HIIT workout shoes offer sufficient stability for strength work and cushion your feet on landings.

They also provide unique features to satisfy the demands of other HIIT activities, such as wall exercises and climbing ropes. Given how intense and high-impact HIIT exercises are, you’ll need the best shoes for HIIT and weight training, like what we provide at KURU.

With excellent cushioning, stability, support, breathability, and responsiveness, KURU HIIT shoes are just as intense as HIIT exercises.

HIIT Shoe Care Tips

Keeping your HIIT shoes fresh and clean is as simple as following these simple tips from our KURU GURUs.

Even if you got the best shoes for HIIT, these will soon degrade if you don’t take good care of them Thus, follow these steps to help preserve your HIIT shoes’ quality:

  • Practice footwear rotation. Do not rely on just one pair of HIIT shoes and wear them every day. Giving them time to rest will not only keep their durability and longevity but also help prevent the growth of bacteria and fungus.
  • To remove microbes and germs and avoid cross-contamination, use disinfectant spray between uses.
  • Do not wash your HIIT shoes in the washing machine to avoid any serious damage. Hand wash them instead, and use an old toothbrush or dry brush to eliminate any dirt from the uppers, midsole, and outsole. Let them air dry while the insoles are removed.
  • Never put them in the dryer as they’re not built to withstand such type of heat. Store your HIIT workout shoes in a cool, dry environment. Regardless if you’re storing them on your closet shelf or their original box, there should be enough ventilation while keeping them away from heat and moisture.

FAQs

  • Should I wear running shoes for HIIT?

While beginners often wear running shoes when going to the gym, these shoes are not designed for HIT. You need HIIT shoes as you’ll be moving forward, backward, up and down, side-to-side, and more.

  • What shoes are best for HIIT training?

Shoes that are perfect for HIIT training are the ones with extraordinary support, stability, cushioning, comfort, breathability, and shock absorption.

  • Do I need HIIT shoes?

If you’re only doing sprinting for your HIIT exercise, running shoes will do. However, if you’re performing cross-training, which is usually the case, you need HIIT shoes to have a solid base for multi-directional movements, reduced toe drop, and enough cushioning.

  • Are crossfit shoes good for lifting?

Yes, they’re good for lifting. They offer enough stability required for effective and safe lifting. The soles also have sufficient grip and traction. However, some shoes belonging to the category of cross-training may compromise lifting benefits a little to accommodate rope climbing, running, and other improvements.

  • Do you sell replacement insoles or sock liners?

We are happy to offer free replacements on ULTIMATE INSOLES for the lifetime of the shoe. While we don’t offer inserts as a separate purchase, you can always contact a KURU GURU for a free replacement if your ULTIMATE INSOLES wear out or suffer damage.

Athletes, active individuals, and even those embarking on a new fitness regimen face a higher risk of experiencing foot and ankle injuries, whether from trauma or overuse.

Three Layers of Support

At KURU, we pride ourselves on our unique approach to shoe design. We believe that shoes should be shaped to fit the natural contours of your feet, which is why we create every pair in three distinct support layers, not just an insole.

Our revolutionary ergonomic design starts with a curved footbed and adds unparalleled triple-layer support that includes shock-absorbing KURUCLOUD, heel-cupping KURUSOLE, and arch-supporting ULTIMATE INSOLES. The result? Shoes that are so comfortable you’ll stop thinking about your feet.

Made me enjoy running for the first time…ever! These shoes really give you a pep to your step. I had worn them on casual walks, and enjoyed them just fine. It wasn’t until I attended a few HIIT classes at OTF that I realized how awesome these are. I LOATHE running, and I actually enjoyed time on the treadmill. These are by far the comfiest runners I have had.

ROWAN

Great comfort Fit! I love how comfortable these sneakers are. Great fit! Durable feel for my intense workouts! Really put together sneaker! Thank you, H

HERMSKY

My 5th pair and counting. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, multiple foot injuries, etc. These sneakers are the best I have found to help me be able to maintain my lifestyle including daily walks with the dogs, and I have even been able to have reduced and minimal pain days, even no pain days, so that I can do strength training and HIIT workouts again.

TANIA

Comfortable shoe with a fun casual style. As someone with too many foot challenges to list, finding KURU was like a dream come true. I own a few pairs (Lucys) and purchased the ATOMS as soon as they became available as I needed a performance shoe for the gym. The ATOM works perfectly for HIIT training. I did need to finagle the laces a bit to ensure a tight fit as the toe box is nice and wide, but once I wore them a few times, they seemed to mold to my feet and were absolutely comfortable. Planning to buy another pair to wear this summer (outside of the gym) as they really are super comfy and my feet don’t hurt at all.

WBA

Happy Feet! So happy. I have been through the shoes! All of them! Plantar faciatis, heel spur, corns, you name it. My feet always hurt. Especially when I exercise. But NOT IN THESE SHOES! Saving my life, one day at a time. I LOVE them. Amazing all-around support. Especially great for HIIT workouts. Standing for long periods of time is not a problem. TRY them! I always order up a size for workout/walking shoes and that worked here as well. I wear 8.5 in all shoes except tennis-shoes – these I wear a 9 and they fit perfectly.
