Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quantum Even though I haven't wore as much as I'd like, the Kuru Quantum is comfortable, stylish and are a unique & different look compared to typical tennis sneaker types. Like 'em so far!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mixed Bag I received these shoes on 4/23. These were initially very comfortable. Despite the warning that you may have to ease in to them, I just dove in. My feet loved them from the get-go. One of the first things I noticed is that the bizarre cutaway on the sole of the shoe makes it very unstable. If you're navigating rough terrain, you have to pay a lot of attention to where you're stepping. I almost did a faceplant the first time I tried to go up stairs. While the upper of the shoe seems to be durable, the foundation of the shoe has basically fallen apart on me. The Kurucloud soles seem to have broken down. (There are deep creases on the exterior, and if I set the shoes on a flat surface, you can see that the right shoe leans decidedly inward.) And the insole of my left shoe had a big chunk of the foam come out right under the ball of my foot. This all came to pass before 7/23. For $130, I expect more than three month's usage from my shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kuru - The Only Brand I Wear I just ordered a second pair of the Quantum Men's Mesh in the Khaki/White/Black. I am a 70 year old man with chronic plantar fasciitis issues who has been wearing only Kurus for over 5 years. What a relief! My only complaint is the styles are a bit bold and edgy for my taste and age. However, with the new tan color in the Quantum style, I finally have a pair of comfortable shoes to wear with shorts and casual wear in the summer. I just swap out the black laces for tan and they are perfect! I ordered a second pair just in case this color isn't available next year. Thank you!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the money if you have heel pain I've worn these shoes for a couple of months now. I have high arches, which leads to plantar fascia pain in my arch and heel. I tried doctor-prescribed custom orthotics, and while they alleviate the plantar fascia pain, they cause the bottoms of my heels to hurt- a lot. Looking for a better option, I figured I'd give Kuru's a shot. Wearing the Kuru's with the custom orthotics doesn't work- still the same pain in the bottoms of my heels. But wearing them without the orthotics does definitely help. Much less pain in bottoms of my heels. There is some plantar fascia pain on the inside of my heels, but it's considerably less than with any other shoe I've worn, and it's much more tolerable. Bottom line- my pain didn't disappear, but my Kuru's have done far more to alleviate the pain than any shoes I've worn or my expensive custom orthotics. I'm pretty happy with them, and I plan to buy pairs for additional occasions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support I have purchased 4 pairs. My plantar fasciitis is completely gone. I play pickleball 4 to 5 times a week and I will not get on the court without them, although not expressly a court shoe they are very supportive and are non-marking, I do wish they had a finger tab in the back to make getting them on easier also the rubber soles will wear down pretty quickly when playing on a concrete surface. They look good and feel good. I have recommended them to four of my fellow pickelball players and they are all hooked on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great walking shoes I walk nearly everyday on pavement and trails. These have been awesome. I am loyal to Kuru for the support and comfort. I like the looks of the gray as functional but not clunky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still great! These Quantums are as good as the past several pair I've owned. And thanks, KURU, for accepting PayPal, a great addition to your service offerings. Just wish you could now improve the durability of the heel support, for that is your claim to fame. Seems 6 months is about the limit. I wouldn't mind paying more for extra durability. Many thanks for being there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sneaker I have been wearing my KURU'S for a few weeks now. A comfortable but also supportive shoe. Best buy I have ever made . I will be purchasing the boots in the fall and probably other sneakers as well. PLUS, a great customer support team.

what materials are used for the uppers in the Quantum jetblack-charcoal shoes?

Asked by: LWS
Great question! The upper for the jetblack-charcoal color in the QUANTUM is made of mesh and high-quality synthetic materials, it does not include any leather. I hope this information was helpful!

I have Morton’s Neuroma and one of the suggestions is a shoe with a wider toe box. My foot measurements are 12 1/2 with a B width. I am a 5k runner 3 or 4 days a week.  What recommendations do you have for me regarding shoe, size, and width?

Asked by: Saintpablo
We appreciate your interest in our footwear! Our KURU shoes including these QUANTUM shoes run true to size. With that being said, we recommend ordering the same size and width that you normally order. The medium width in the women's footwear is a size B so we would recommend ordering the 12.5 medium. This QUANTUM would also be perfect for what you are looking for since it has a wider toe box and it is a great athletic shoe! I hope this information was helpful!

My husband has flat feet and is very pronated. What shoe would be best for him?

Asked by: Sharon777
Thanks for reaching out to KURU Footwear and great question! All of our KURU shoes, no matter which style you choose, begin with anatomically correct arch support. (For those with high arches, this might not seem like enough at first, whereas those with low arches may feel like it's too much.) However, over time, they use your body heat to mold to your exact foot shape, so you get a custom fit, and exactly the support you need, no matter what kind of arch you have. This perfect arch support is the absolute best way to prevent and relieve heel and pronation pain. So in summary, all of our shoes are great for Plantar Fasciitis, heel pain, pronation/supination and have excellent arch support! So rest assured whatever style you pick, it will feel like you are walking on clouds. Some customers with pronation/supination have had better luck with styles with a hard outer sole like our CHICANE, QUEST, KIVI. Happy walking!

how much do these shoes weigh?

Asked by: gas
Great question! The men's QUANTUM weighs approximately 11 ounces which is about 0.6 pounds per shoe. The weight of the shoe may vary from size to size but there is very little to no difference. I hope this information was helpful!

Are these good for neutral runners. Looking at them ocr and ninja training

The QUANTUM shoes are considered a fitness/walking trainer but they are also great for running. A good alternative for runners would be the CARRERA shoe style!
