Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately for me not worth the expense. Unfortunately for me the shoes perform poorly and left my feet hurting after a lot of walking (this was after being allowed to exchange for same size with slightly better fit). Initially the shoes felt great and seemed to break in well. During first heavy use period the shoes left my feet killing me (23+ miles during first two days). The only thing that seemed to be as advertised were the arch supports. The remainder of the shoe support is significantly lacking (heel pad not helpful and forefoot padding minimal) causing my plantar fasciitis to be negatively impacted. I had to use another pair of shoes more during a recent trip than these due to the foot pain these caused with a lot of walking (for perspective both were new shoes).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy feet! I have crummy feet. Pigeon toed, hammer toe, plantar fasciitis, theyre a mess. Ive been a New Balance guy for last 10 years, but wasnt getting the comfort I had in the past. After trying 10 different shoes in the last 12 months (Hoka, NB, Puma, Asics and protalus inserts). These were the most comfortable shoes I have worn in years, STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! the insoles felt like the arch might be to high, but they seem to just melt around my feet. After a 8 hour trial in the house, took to the gym. 20 mins jogging, no pain. I never jog! They are a bit clunky (read heavey) compared to last few pairs Ive owned, but not enough to bother me. I really hope these hold up. Will update in a few months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There's always a but..... SERVICE = GREAT Shoe - Listed as a hiking shoe. Light hiking for sure. I was hiking 6 miles a day in the woods before my feet went all Plantars on me. These shoes fit perfectly out of the box. The workmanship looks and feels great. The arch and heel support are surprisingly comfortable and very functional. My feet are in agony by noon everyday. My first day in these shoes I didn't feel too much pain til end of day, for me a miracle. Lets see if they hold up. the reason for the 4 stars not 5 is frankly zero ankle support. A hiker should have some. I have been working and wearing the shoes daily and for that they are a lifesaver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great shoe, But the insole... It’s a well built shoe, that provides good support and cushioning initially. BUT the insole does not measure up: while it has good arch support, the foam in the forefoot compresses substantially, thus reducing cushioning. I had great hopes not to have to by a separate high-end insole, but unfortunately, I was let down after less than 3 months and perhaps wearing the shoe 3 times per week for an hour’s walk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It took me 70 years to find these shoes I have tried many shoes that claimed to be wonderful and life changing but it was always was just bogus advertising. Within a few days of buying and wearing Kuru shoes I bought another pair and then prayed Kuru shoes would let all us customers know if they were ever going out of business so we could stock up on shoes. For many years I have had diabetic nerve problems in my feet. In desperation I have tried way to many of other top shoes on the market that were very expensive and highly advertised. I even tried one pair that had springs inside the shoe heel. Now that is desperate. After wearing them for a day one shoe made no noise and the other sounded like a dying cricket every time it hit the floor. I no longer need to take my shoes off and on all day trying to get some relief. Now I put them on in the morning and leave them on all day and smile about it. thanks KURU

I see you said that the size 9.5 weighs .9 pounds. Is that per shoes or the pair? Also, how much of a width difference is between the medium and the wide options?

Asked by: MP1987
Thank you for contacting KURU Footwear! Great question! The weight is per shoe. As for the width, the medium width is a size D and the wide width is a size E+ or 2E in the men's footwear. These sizes are based on the Brannock measuring device which is the metal device commonly found in footwear stores. The difference in length would be approximately 1/8th of an inch. I hope this information was helpful!

Can orthopedic Inserts from a doctor be used with your shoes?
Asked by: Anonymous
Great question! The insoles in our shoes are removable and can be replaced with your very own custom insoles/orthotics. Most customers have found that the support in our shoes is enough to the point where you do not need custom insoles but it really depends on what you need and what you find is more comfortable. Please keep in mind that we do offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. With that being said, you can always order a pair to try them on and if you get the wrong size or if it doesn't work out for you, you can return them to us free of charge within 45 days of purchase. They need to be in new condition to get full refund or exchange.

I typically wear an 8 1/2 shoe but have a narrow 'B' width. Does the Quantum shoe accommodate a narrow width in this size to fit snugly on the foot?
Asked by: Anonymous
We appreciate your interest in our KURU shoes! The QUANTUM shoe style has a generous toe box with an overall relaxed fit so it may feel a little wide but that is normal. To help you out with the width, the women's medium width is a size B and the men's medium width is a size D. These sizes are based on the Brannock measuring device. We can always order a pair to see how they fit! Please keep in mind that we do offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. With that being said, you can always order a pair to try them on and if you get the wrong size or if it doesn't work out for you, you can return them to us free of charge within 45 days of purchase. They need to be in new condition to get full refund or exchange.

regarding chicanes, do the shoes run true to size or do you need to order a size up.

are these shoes good for flat feet. Do these shoes have a curve for the arch?
Asked by: Ihsan
We apprecaite your interest in the CHICANE! The CHICANE shoes are definitley good for flat feet. They also provide arch support but they will not curve in any special way. The insole which provides that arch support would custom mold to your feet to better acommodate your foot.
