Rated 5 out of 5 by from It took me 70 years to find these shoes I have tried many shoes that claimed to be wonderful and life changing but it was always was just bogus advertising. Within a few days of buying and wearing Kuru shoes I bought another pair and then prayed Kuru shoes would let all us customers know if they were ever going out of business so we could stock up on shoes. For many years I have had diabetic nerve problems in my feet. In desperation I have tried way to many of other top shoes on the market that were very expensive and highly advertised. I even tried one pair that had springs inside the shoe heel. Now that is desperate. After wearing them for a day one shoe made no noise and the other sounded like a dying cricket every time it hit the floor. I no longer need to take my shoes off and on all day trying to get some relief. Now I put them on in the morning and leave them on all day and smile about it. thanks KURU

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great walking shoe Just got my second pair of Kuru Chicanes. They are so comfortable and no heel pain when I walk. If you suffer from heel pain you have to try these shoes. Truly amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable Have had this shoe over a year now and wear it every day to work. Has held up well and still as comfortable as ever. Looking into getting a couple more pairs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing shoe I bought these shoes specifically for a trip to D.C. I wore them a couple of times prior to the trip to break them in. On the first day I walked 12 miles according to my health app on my iPhone. All told I walked about 50 miles in the week. I put on my dress shoes to walk to dinner and immediately started getting shin-splints. I didn't have one problem all week and all 50 miles. The first day I thought I broke them because my socks were stuck to the insole and they tried to come out of the shoe. I will have these shoes for a long time and use them on a daily basis for walking and hiking. Couldn't be happier! The fit was great with no sore spots nor tight spots. The narrow sole is a bit tricky to get used to, but once you just start enjoying and forget about it, they are super!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor quality product I have had this shoe less than a year and had to throw them away. The fabric on the back of my heal wore out. Admittedly I own several casual or hiking style shoes, thus I have not worn these shoes all that much. I have never had the back of the heal come apart such as these shoes have. I will not be buying them again, or any KURU footwear. Sorry KURU but someone must have cut cost and used cheap material. You have now lost a customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye bye plantr fascitis These shoes have given me options that I had thought were no longer mine since I began having plantar fasciitis and related foot pain. For several months prior to ordering my Kuru shoes, I had severe heel and foot pain every day upon waking up. I was about to make a doctor's appointment and was afraid my days of pain free walking, hiking and climbing were done. Not So Fast! Because Google and others have become so adept at knowing what I need/like, the Kuru advertisement was in my feed and I figured it was worth a try. My Chicanes immediately fit comfortably, and they became more comfortable with every wearing. From the time I put them on, I had no fasciitis issues, and the rear part of the shoe from the ball of my foot back molded over the first few wearings ro form a supportive and secure base for my heel. The Kurus look good and fit true to size. The leather is glove-soft. I can walk out of the office and hike and climb with a degree of comfort and grip that are second to none and without needing specialized shoes. I will buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exchange and Happy Customer My first pair came in and they were a bit tight. Since I have 3 other pairs of Kuru shoes, I was surprised, but the exchange process was quick and easy. This is my second day of house break-in. Very sturdy build, easy on the feet and I can see that hours on the trail will not be an issue with these shoes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Narrow base provides little support Happy I got the shoes and headed out on moderate hike Red Mountain California. This was a very uncomfortable shoe. Nothing felt right about this shoe. The heel is narrow and the base of the shoe was high, it is easy to step on most any surface and roll your ankle. Similar poor traction for the front of the shoe over steeper terrain. The sole had much cushion in the heel but the balls of my feet were not at all comfortable, the sole pushed into the ball; not what you need if you have plantar fasciatis issues. The shoe does not wrap comfortable around the top of the foot, this shoe is all about heel comfort but is lacking in foot comfort and overall stability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe no more back pain I purchased my Chicane last May and I'm extremely happy with their performance, comfort, looks and durability. I have purchased many different inserts due to lower back pain and nothing seemed to really work. Since I've had my Chicane's, my back pain is gone and no inserts. I wear them daily. Vacations are more enjoyable, along with daily family trips. We don't cut any events short anymore due to back pain.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way too narrow for a wide and weird fit I have a hard time finding shoes in Wide or EE so, Kuru got my attention with their sizing. I really like the look of these, they would have been my all around shoes but: Nowhere on the shoe a size WIDE is mentioned. They are, at the best, a Medium width in other brand and at least 1/2 size too small. The inner soles felt very uneven out of the box, enough to be uncomfortable to walk around the room while trying them. My right heel was simply unsupported, really weird to walk with them. To be fair, maybe just too small for me? Just not impressed with them. I would not recommend them for anyone needing wide shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW - What a Difference.... Bought a pair of Chicane's for my wife and myself. We have three exercise happy Siberian Huskies we walk two miles everyday, our feet were feeling the pain. We couldn't believe the incredible arch support and heel support the shoes provided. We loved the Chicane shoes so much, we ordered a pair of Quantums as well. The Quantums are also top notch, providing the same support. Important to note, I've been looking a long time for shoes that provided this type support. For someone looking for solid arch and heel support, I find it very hard to believe there is a shoe on the market better than KURU.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plantar Fasciitis Relief I purchased the men's grey mesh Chicane wide shoes to hopefully find some relief for persistent PF that is slow healing. I'm a woman & a teacher who has wide feet; consequently, finding wide toe boxes and truly "wide" shoes can be difficult. At the suggestion of my podiatrist, I've been buying men's shoes with some success. The style and color is great - they go well with dress pants, dress pant capris (a sporty look), and even skorts. These shoes helped manage PF pain and were comfortable to wear all day. I came home from work without the full body aches that I've had for almost 8 months now. Side note, at first I wasn't sure the arch support was as good as the orthotic insoles that I often wear, but after wearing the shoes for less than an hour, the shoe molded to my foot and created comfortable, stable arch support. Keep up the good work; I'll buy Kuru shoes again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfortable shoe!!! These are the most comfortable shoes I own and I have quite a few. Also I love that the laces don't come undone like my other lace ups. I gave up on lace shoes because they are always coming undone unless you double lace them. Not that way on these Kuru's. Great shoe!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shoe but terrible fit I like the looks and general feel of the shoe but I'm forever adjusting the laces to get a snug enough fit that isnt too tight. I have a low instep and the tongue and laces just dont go high enough on my foot

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made it through 5 days of theme parks! I have bilateral plantar fasciitis and already owned three other pairs of Kurus. I bought these knowing I was heading to Orlando with my kids. Five straight days of walking around and standing in lines. Unbelievable! At the end of the fourth day my feet were sore, but no pain - just usual walking around soreness. Last summer with a traditional running shoe I was in tears after one day in a theme park and constantly looking for a place to sit. These shoes are amazing. The most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Foot Relief I bought these for my husband who is a teacher and suffers from plantar fasciitis. After trying multiple other shoes and insoles, these have helped him more than all of those combined. He is very grateful for the designer of these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Comfortable This is my second pair of Kuru shoes. I was diagnosed with bilateral plantar fasciitis and bilateral insertional achilles tendonitis with a calcified section of my left achilles tendon. I stopped improving after 4 months of physical therapy. A friend at the gym told me how Kurus helped him. I have never had a pair of shoes that alleviated my heel pain until now. Thanks to Kuru shoes, my right foot is painless and my left is at least 90% less painful. I am continuing to make good progress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoes I've ever bought! I have had my Kuru Chicane's for over a year, and they have a LOT of miles on them. I wore them on concrete for 10 hour shifts and my feet never felt tired, plus they are incredibly durable. Mine still look brand new. I live in Florida, but just spend a cold snowy weekend in the upper midwest and they performed flawlessly. My feet stayed warm and dry, even after walking through 4 inches of snow. Two thumbs and two big toes up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe They felt too snug when I initially put them but I quickly felt very comfortable in them. They provide the support and comfort I need with plantars fasciitis... probably the best shoe I have found so far. I was afraid they were going to be a little too quirky but I do like the uniqueness and am very pleased with the style. I would like to purchase another Kuru shoe but they are pricey. They do seem to be good quality... After a month of continual wear they have held up well so I may be ordering another style in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and comfortable I have had these shoes for about a month now and I absolutely love them. Foot pain is gone! I have slight plantar fasciitis and a more pronounced neuroma in both feet. At the end of a day standing in these shoes, my feet feel rested and pain free. It has been years since I have felt this good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe with excellent support. After a couple if weeks wearing these shoes they feel great. The tongue can be a little ruff feeling n the top of the foot but this could be the socks I was wearing. Overall very happy with these and they were my first Kurus. Nice tread for hiking

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your Feet Will Thank You I have always been an active mountain hiker and urban walker. And since smart phones have been keeping track and urging me on for the last 12 years, that means a minimum of 10000 steps per day and as many as 32288, when I got lost for a while in the Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe. The most comfortable hiking and walking shoes I've ever owned are the Kuru Chicanes. I'm on my second pair of these now. And I've got some pretty ailing 78 year old feet - plantar fasciitis, the whole nine yards. So, for my continued Kuru comfort walking around the house, I slip on my Kuru Drafts... Aah.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Great Shoes After running a marathon last year, I developed pretty bad plantar fasciitis. I had been wearing a pair of old running shoes as my daily shoe, but they were getting worn down and so I started looking for an alternative daily shoe that would hold up to active, outdoor wear and be helpful for my plantar fasciitis pain. I found Kuru through research, and decided to purchase a pair of the Chicane Mesh Plantar Fasciitis Shoes in Black/Red. I typically do not buy shoes online that I've already been wearing or tried on somewhere else, but based on my research and reviews I decided to take the chance, and I'm very glad I did. I did follow the recommended break-in period by Kuru, wearing them about 3 hours per day for a week or so before wearing them full time. I've now been wearing them as my full time daily shoe, and they are very comforting for my plantar fasciitis pain. They have a great cushion, and good arch support. They soles are heavier than I was used to since I had been wearing running shoes, but I got used to that pretty quickly. The primary drawback is that the heel of the shoe is low and looser than I prefer. I have to tie them quite tightly for the heel not to slip, which in turn gets uncomfortable on the tops of my feet after wearing them for a while. Otherwise, I feel good about the purchase and would recommend them for someone looking for a solid daily use shoe that helps with plantar fasciitis pain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally!!! My feet have been hurting for years and I have tried so many different shoes. My problem is in the ball and toe area. I tried several different shoes that said they were good for plantar fasciitis. Spent a lot of money on insoles. I ordered these because of a review. I don't know what it is because they don't have a hi arch or much of a insole but they area just comfortable!!! Im on my 5th pair and a new pair in the closet. They hold up well and like the style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is my 2nd pair of Kuru's. Really helped pain I bought a pair of Kinetics before. They "healed" my foot pain. The only bad thing was that my foot broke thru the big toe area of the shoes on the side (like most shoes do for me) at about 2 months.I tried a different type this time. So far so good! Only bad thing so far is that the rubber at the top/tip of the show is pealing away. Foot pain is gone though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more foot pain! The pain relief is no instantaneous but after a week it is undeniable. Excellent fit. No idea how long they will last, but if I can get 6 months (very active) use out of them, I will be a repeat customer.

I see you said that the size 9.5 weighs .9 pounds. Is that per shoes or the pair? Also, how much of a width difference is between the medium and the wide options?

Asked by: MP1987
Thank you for contacting KURU Footwear! Great question! The weight is per shoe. As for the width, the medium width is a size D and the wide width is a size E+ or 2E in the men's footwear. These sizes are based on the Brannock measuring device which is the metal device commonly found in footwear stores. The difference in length would be approximately 1/8th of an inch. I hope this information was helpful!

Can orthopedic Inserts from a doctor be used with your shoes?
Asked by: Anonymous
Great question! The insoles in our shoes are removable and can be replaced with your very own custom insoles/orthotics. Most customers have found that the support in our shoes is enough to the point where you do not need custom insoles but it really depends on what you need and what you find is more comfortable. Please keep in mind that we do offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. With that being said, you can always order a pair to try them on and if you get the wrong size or if it doesn't work out for you, you can return them to us free of charge within 45 days of purchase. They need to be in new condition to get full refund or exchange.

I typically wear an 8 1/2 shoe but have a narrow 'B' width. Does the Quantum shoe accommodate a narrow width in this size to fit snugly on the foot?
Asked by: Anonymous
We appreciate your interest in our KURU shoes! The QUANTUM shoe style has a generous toe box with an overall relaxed fit so it may feel a little wide but that is normal. To help you out with the width, the women's medium width is a size B and the men's medium width is a size D. These sizes are based on the Brannock measuring device. We can always order a pair to see how they fit! Please keep in mind that we do offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. With that being said, you can always order a pair to try them on and if you get the wrong size or if it doesn't work out for you, you can return them to us free of charge within 45 days of purchase. are these shoes good for flat feet. Do these shoes have a curve for the arch?
Asked by: Ihsan
We apprecaite your interest in the CHICANE! The CHICANE shoes are definitley good for flat feet. They also provide arch support but they will not curve in any special way. The insole which provides that arch support would custom mold to your feet to better acommodate your foot.
