Excellent combination of cushioning and support
I have chemo induced peripheral neuropathy which means I've gone from having a neutral foot strike to now dealing with under-pronation (supination). As an additional side effect of my neuropathy, I've started to form bunions on my big toes and my heel strike is overly hard. The Pika has ameliorated many of my symptoms. The insole, heel counter, and midsole work together to soften my heel strike and help position my foot so that my under-pronation is greatly improved. The roomy toe box is great for bunion relief and, in my estimation, would also help with hammer toes. Wearing the Pikas is like having a wearable anti-fatigue mat which makes them a good choice for those at risk for plantar fasciitis. The uppers are almost as waterproof as Gore-Tex but are decidedly more breathable. If you're seeking a shoe to wear all day, the Pika is an excellent choice because of its blend of support and cushioning.
In terms of style, the Pika is quite good looking -- the leather is a mellow brown which can go from the office to more casual wear. The Pika has become my go to shoe.
